Wreck Diving for some is what diving is all about, if that is your preference you will not be disappointed in Barbados as we have numerous wrecks to suit all levels of experience.

bulletSS Stavronikita.

We have to start with the "Stav" as it has to be one of the best wrecks in the Caribbean! The wreck situated off Fitts Village on the west coast was a deliberate sinking due to the damage caused in 1976 by a fire, she was towed into Barbados and eventually bought by the Barbados government to be sunk and create an artificial reef. The Stav was fully prepared for diving before being sunk in 1978 and can be dived by all experience levels as all dives on the Stav are led by experienced Divemasters. It is possible to penetrate the Stav due to the pre sinking preparation i.e. removing any potential hazards such as overhead pipes and snags.

The Stavronikita is a true multi-Level dive, she sits perfectly upright and has depth ranges from 18ft(top of the mast) to 140ft(max depth at the prop) with decks at 70ft cabins 50-70ft and holds and engine rooms in the 70ft+ range. As with all large wrecks, at 365ft long she is a big wreck, she must be treated with great respect, any overhead environment or wreck with lots of cabins brings with it potential dangers!!!

bulletPamir.

The Pamir is the most northerly of all the dived wrecks in Barbados, she sits upright in a sheltered spot close to shore. Unlike the Stavro she is a much smaller wreck and sits in much shallower water therefore is a good introduction to wreck diving giving us lots of bottom time to explore the delights in and around the Pamir. At 160ft long and sitting in 50ft of water she is a good warm up dive for the Stavro.

bulletLord Combermere.

Another smaller wreck sitting between 40-60ft of water allowing lots of bottom time to explore and maybe take some artistic photo's of this wreck. The Lord Combermere is not as popular as some of the other wrecks, maybe that is because of the choices of wrecks to dive in Barbados, none the less worth a dive!

bulletCarlisle Bay Wrecks.

The wrecks in Carlisle Bay are some of the most easily accessible in Barbados the shallowest being only 7ft from the surface with lots of growth and fish life due to the lack of depth and light penetration.

There are four wrecks within easy swimming distance of the permanent moorings  The Berwyn 7-20ft, The Eillion 25-55ft, The C-Trek, 30-40ft and The Fox, 40ft, all have there own beauty and are well worth exploring.
